Lobtrix Terms of Service

You need an account to enter an event or to publish one. You give us a real name, a working email address and, for players, your gender and date of birth so organisers can place you in the correct divisions.

You must be at least 13 years old to hold a Lobtrix account. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must be aware of your participation and accept responsibility for entry fees and event attendance.

Your account is yours. Keep your password private, do not share logins, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Organiser accounts are currently intended for organisations based in Australia.

You can close your account at any time. Closing an account does not cancel entries you already hold, refund fees already paid, or remove results from events you have already played.

Lobtrix provides software. The organiser of each event decides the format, the divisions, the prices, the venue, the schedule, the refund policy and the rules on the day. The organiser is the party you contract with when you enter their event.

We do not verify the accuracy of an event listing, the safety or suitability of a venue, the credentials of a referee or organiser, or whether an event will actually go ahead.

We do not select, supervise, insure or employ organisers, referees, coaches or players.

If an event is cancelled, moved, shortened, delayed or changed, that is the organiser's decision and the organiser's refund policy applies. We can help you contact them through the platform.

When you enter an event you agree to turn up on time, follow the organiser's rules and the venue's rules, treat opponents, partners, referees and staff with respect, and report scores honestly.

Eligibility

Divisions can be restricted by gender, age and rating range. You must enter only divisions you are actually eligible for. Entering a division you are not eligible for lets the organiser move you or withdraw you, and no refund is guaranteed.

Ratings

Where an event is described as DUPR rated, the organiser has stated their intent to submit results to DUPR. Lobtrix records that intent and the division's rating bounds. We do not control DUPR, we do not guarantee that results are accepted, and we do not guarantee any rating outcome.

Partners

In doubles you can enter with a named partner or invite a partner by email. An invited partner has to accept, and in some events pay their half, before the entry is confirmed. If the partner does not accept before the deadline, the entry can lapse.

Scores and results

Scores can be entered by players and confirmed by the opposing team, or entered by the organiser. Confirmed scores feed draws, standings and public results pages. Deliberately false scores are grounds for removal from the event and from the platform.

No-shows and substitutions

An organiser can mark an entry as a no-show, award a walkover, substitute a player, or move an entry between divisions in order to keep an event running. Those actions are recorded and can change a draw or a ladder that is already published.

If you publish an event on Lobtrix you are the event organiser. You are responsible for the event being real, lawful, safe, insured to the extent your jurisdiction and venue require, and delivered as described.

Corporate events are run for a single client company. The roster you import is that client's staff list, and you are responsible for having the client's authority to upload it.

An event that charges money cannot be published until payout verification is complete on your connected Stripe account. That is a platform requirement, not a discretionary check.

Entry fees

Entry fees are set by the organiser and are collected on the organiser's behalf. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Funds for entry fees settle to the organiser's connected Stripe account, not to Lobtrix.

Where an organiser enables split payment, each player on a team pays their own half through their own link, and the entry confirms when both halves are paid or the organiser confirms otherwise.

Where an organiser enables pay on the day, no card payment is taken at entry and you settle directly with the organiser at the venue.

Lobtrix fees

Lobtrix charges organisers a setup fee of US$10 per published event and a platform fee of US$3 per player per division entered, with no cap on the number of divisions. Player Plus members do not pay the platform fee. Those fees are priced in US dollars. Where they are shown next to a local-currency figure, the local figure is an approximate conversion for information only, and the amount actually charged is the US dollar amount.

Organiser-set prices, including entry fees, are in the organiser's own currency and are shown to players in that currency.

Refunds

Refunds of entry fees are the organiser's decision under their published policy. Lobtrix platform fees and setup fees are not refundable once an event has been published, except where we are required by law to refund them.

Chargebacks

If you dispute a card payment with your bank, we may suspend the related entry while the dispute is resolved, and the organiser may treat the entry as unpaid.

Taxes

You are responsible for your own tax obligations. Organisers are responsible for any GST or other tax on the entry fees they collect.

Pickleball is a physical sport played at speed on hard surfaces. Participating carries a real risk of injury, including sprains, fractures, collisions with other players, walls or net posts, heat illness, cardiac events, and in rare cases serious or permanent injury.

By entering an event through Lobtrix you confirm that you are participating voluntarily, that you are physically fit to play, and that you accept those risks. You are responsible for your own health, your own warm-up, your own equipment and your own decision to keep playing or to stop.

You accept those risks as against Lobtrix. Your rights against the organiser and the venue are a matter between you and them, and nothing here removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot be excluded.

If you have a medical condition that could affect you on court, tell the organiser before you play.

You keep ownership of what you upload. You grant Lobtrix a licence to host, display, reproduce and adapt your content for the purpose of operating the platform and showing the event.

Competitive sport is public by nature. Your display name, your division, your draw position, your schedule, your match results and your standings are shown on public event pages, brackets, schedules, live scoring screens and TV views. Your email address, phone number, date of birth and exact address are not.

Organisers can see the contact details of players entered in their own events, in order to run those events. Email addresses are masked on roster screens until deliberately revealed, and revealing them is recorded.

Photos and video taken at an event are controlled by the organiser and the venue, not by Lobtrix.

Lobtrix includes assistive features that draft event configurations, propose divisions and pricing, build draws and schedules, and suggest fixes when a schedule has conflicts. These features generate suggestions from the information you provide.

Suggestions are not advice and are not guaranteed to be correct, complete, fair or optimal. Nothing generated is published, charged for or run until a human approves it. An organiser who publishes an AI-drafted event is responsible for that event exactly as if they had typed every field.

Do not paste confidential information into these features that you would not be comfortable sending to a third-party model provider.

We can suspend or close an account that breaches this section, and where money is involved we can withhold payouts pending investigation.

We aim to keep Lobtrix available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, third-party outages, network failures and venue connectivity all affect what you see on the day.

Features change. We may add, alter or remove functionality, and we may change how fees are structured with reasonable notice for future events. Events already published keep the fee terms they were published under.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Subject to that, Lobtrix is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from participation in an event, the acts or omissions of an organiser, venue, referee or another player, an event being cancelled or changed, or a schedule, draw or result being wrong.

Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with the platform in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount of Lobtrix fees you paid us in that period, or, where you paid us nothing, to resupplying the service.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost opportunity or lost data.

If you are an organiser, you indemnify Lobtrix against claims, losses and costs arising from an event you publish, from content you upload, from your handling of player data, or from your breach of these terms.

We can suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that creates risk for other users, or where we are required to by law or by our payment provider.

You can stop using Lobtrix at any time. Provisions that by their nature survive termination, including fees owed, liability, indemnity and dispute resolution, survive.

We may publish updated terms. When we do, we ask you to accept them the next time you sign in. Continuing to use Lobtrix after an update is published, and after you accept it, means the updated terms apply.

We keep a record of which version you accepted and when, together with the IP address and browser recorded at the time.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and Lobtrix submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
